1956

 

Joe Brittan founded the company Brittan's Medical Services. The main focus was to distribute and supply gasses to home patients and small clinics.

1965

 

Separation of the gas business from hospital product distributorships occurred and Brittanaire (Pty) Ltd was formed to distribute cardio-thoracic products from Bentley Laboratories.

1968

 

A joint venture with Airshields in the USA to commence manufacture of neonatal equipment in South Africa was undertaken resulting in the incorporation of Airshields of SA (Pty) Ltd.

1979

 

Bionetics was formed and was responsible for the first locally assembled infusion pumps in South Africa.

1984

 

Vascumed was formed as a supplier of high quality consumables for catheterisation laboratories and radiology departments.

1985

 

Medical Devices was incorporated and quickly established itself in the dialysis market.

Brittan Healthcare was formed with a multiple company structure and later in...

Brittan Healthcare incorporated all the subsidiaries that were currently in the company portfolio.

2001

 

The renal division within BHC was sold back to Fresenius Medical Care.

2010

 

BHC Healthcare Group was acquired by Top Draw Investments.

2013

 

BHC Manufacturing division is incorporated into GMS Healthcare, whilst BHC Electromedical Disivion is positioned as a specialist equipment company.
